The customer marketplace and app are separate from the business plan. On Vagaro's US pricing page one bookable calendar is $30 a month and each extra calendar adds $10, up to $90 at seven, with those prices shown struck through beside an exclusive rate of $23.99 to $83.99 for the first 6 months, and Vagaro offers a 30-day free trial (read 3 November 2026). Text marketing, forms, MySite, the branded app, payroll and card processing are priced separately.

What it really isBusiness software for salons, spas, fitness studios and other appointment-based businesses, with online booking, point of sale and card processing, payroll, inventory and marketing, plus a separate customer marketplace and booking app.
Our takeThe base price is easy to read: one bookable calendar costs $30 a month, each extra adds $10 up to seven, and an exclusive lower rate applies for the first 6 months.
The monthly bill then depends on the add-ons you switch on and on card processing, which Vagaro prices separately, so total the features you need before comparing it with other tools.
Why we rate itPrices, add-ons and processing fees are published in US dollars and 18 items are included with every plan, but add-ons, card processing and a 12-month term on the free reader add cost and conditions, and the pricing page does not state the price after the first 6 months.
The catchThe $23.99 rate lasts 6 months; text marketing, forms, MySite, the branded app, payroll and integrations cost extra; the free card reader needs 12 months of processing or a $150 fee; and a cancelled subscription gets no refund of fees already paid for the period.

Best / not good for

Best for
  • Salons, spas and studios that book by individual staff calendar
  • Businesses that want booking and card payments in one system
  • Solo practitioners who can price a single calendar
Not good for
  • Businesses that need a free plan
  • Buyers who want one all-in monthly price with marketing and payroll included
  • Multi-location businesses that want a flat published price
Trade-offs

Friction report

Trade-offs to know before signing up.

  1. Time to value
Vagaro says setup can take as little as 15 minutes and a data transfer from another system typically takes 1 to 2 business days; the free trial lasts 30 days.
  2. Scale breakpoint
At one location the price stops rising at seven calendars ($90 a month); multi-location businesses use a separate a la carte tab and Contact Sales.
  3. Walled garden
Card payments are described as Vagaro credit card processing through Vagaro Merchant Services, and the pages read do not say whether another processor can be used; text marketing, the branded app and QuickBooks and Xero integrations are separate paid add-ons.

From Vagaro's pricing page (vagaro.com/pro/pricing), One Location tab, read in a browser and with a US-located request on 3 November 2026; the US-located read confirmed the one-calendar view and the browser, which was served Vagaro's US pricing page, showed every calendar count. Vagaro labels the lower figure an exclusive rate for the first 6 months and shows the higher figure struck through; its page does not say in words what the price is after month six. Vagaro's FAQ says a bookable calendar is one for an individual who performs services and needs their own schedule, not admin staff such as the front desk, that each extra calendar license costs $10 (US) up to seven, and that after seven more employees can be added at no extra cost. The page says Cancel anytime with no cancellation fees and adds that exclusions apply. Multi-location businesses have a separate tab with a la carte pricing and Contact Sales. Prices outside the US may differ.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Vagaro used for?

Vagaro is used by salons, spas, fitness studios and other service businesses to book appointments, take payments, manage staff, run payroll, track inventory and market to clients, according to Vagaro's About page. Clients use the separate Vagaro app and marketplace to find, book and pay for services at those businesses. Vagaro, Inc. is a private company founded in 2009 and based in Pleasanton, California, and says more than 100,000 businesses in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia use it.

How much does Vagaro cost per month?

On Vagaro's US pricing page one bookable calendar is $30 a month, rising by $10 for each extra calendar to $90 at seven or more, with those prices shown struck through beside an exclusive rate of $23.99 to $83.99 for the first 6 months. Text marketing, forms, MySite, the branded app, payroll and other add-ons are priced separately, and card processing has its own rates, for example 2.6% + $0.10 per in-person transaction for small merchants. Vagaro's page says Cancel anytime with no cancellation fees and adds that exclusions apply (checked 3 November 2026).

Is Vagaro free?

No: Vagaro's pricing page shows paid plans and no free plan, but it offers a 30-day free trial. Vagaro says the trial includes all features except email marketing, text marketing and the branded app. A free listing on the Vagaro Marketplace comes with every plan, and Vagaro says there are no fees for getting booked through the Marketplace (checked 3 November 2026).

Is Vagaro legit?

Vagaro, Inc. is a private company based in Pleasanton, California, that publishes its terms, prices and fees, and Conversion Gems gives no verdict beyond those facts. Vagaro's pages say it was founded in 2009 by Fred Helou, who is CEO, and reached a $1 billion valuation in a 2021 round led by FTV Capital, and its footer says Vagaro Merchant Services is a registered ISO of PNC Bank, N.A. Its pricing page and help center publish the card processing fees and a $150 early cancellation fee on the free card reader. Third-party review sites and forum posts were not used.

What is the Vagaro charge on my card statement?

Conversion Gems found no Vagaro page that states the exact wording of a card statement line, so it cannot say what yours means. Vagaro's help center says a business that takes cards through Vagaro Merchant Services can edit the doing-business-as name shown on its customers' statements, so a charge may carry that business's name. If you cannot match it to a business you visited, Vagaro lists support at (925) 464-1932 ext. 2 and support@vagaro.com.

How do I log in to Vagaro?

Vagaro's help article says a customer account, used to book appointments, logs in through the Vagaro app or at vagaro.com, while a business or employee account logs in through the Vagaro Pro app or at vagaro.com, and the Log In link on Vagaro's pricing page goes to https://www.vagaro.com/pro-login. Conversion Gems read those pages and did not sign in; the pro-login page itself showed blank in the browser used for this check.
