Clio Manage is cloud legal practice management software from Clio (Themis Solutions Inc.), and not the Renault Clio car. On Clio's US edition, Starter is shown from $49 USD per user per month; Core, Signature and Elite are quoted, and the 7-day trial asks for no credit card (clio.com/pricing, read 4 November 2026). What it is, and why we rate it

One line each. Open a row for detail.

What it really isCloud legal practice management software from Clio (Themis Solutions Inc.) covering matters, billing, trust accounting and client communication, with Clio Work and Clio Grow sold alongside it.
Our takeClio is open about its plan names, its trial and its payment fees, and it publishes one price, for Starter.
Everything above Starter is a quote, and payment fees, court calendaring jurisdictions and add-ons change the bill, so the total cost is settled in a sales conversation.
Why we rate itPlan names, the trial, payment fees and per-plan features are published first-party, but only the Starter price is, and the billing basis is not stated.
The catchOnly Starter has a public price, the page does not say whether it assumes annual billing, payment fees and extra court calendaring jurisdictions cost more, and each country has its own pricing page.

Best / not good for

Best for
  • Law firms that want trust accounting built in
  • Firms that want AI drafting for bills and client updates from Core up
  • Firms willing to request quotes for the higher tiers
Not good for
  • Buyers who want a published price for every plan
  • Firms that want a free plan rather than a 7-day trial
  • Firms outside the US who would rely on the US price instead of their own country's page
Trade-offs

Friction report

Trade-offs to know before signing up.

  1. Time to value
The 7-day trial asks for no card, and Clio says every plan includes training and support by phone, email or live chat 24/5, and its pricing page lists data migration.
  2. Scale breakpoint
Starter has 3 e-signatures per active user, pooled across the firm, and no custom roles, Core has 15 per active user and 2 custom roles, and Signature has unlimited of both; court calendaring covers 3 jurisdictions per firm on Core and 10 on Signature and Elite.
  3. Walled garden
Matter stages, multi-currency billing, split billing, automated workflows and custom reporting start at Signature, and Clio Grow comes with Elite or as a quoted add-on.

From Clio's pricing page (clio.com/pricing), read on 4 November 2026. The page is Clio's US/Global edition (the unprefixed URL; its footer region switch also lists Australia, Canada, Ireland and the United Kingdom); its FAQ says plans start at $49 USD per user per month and that there are four plans, Starter, Core, Signature and Elite, and it does not say whether $49 assumes annual or monthly billing. Clio publishes separate pages for Australia, Canada, Ireland and the United Kingdom; the Canada page says $69 CAD per user per month. Clio says AI is included from Core up and accounting on every plan, and offers a 7-day free trial with no credit card. The pricing page does not map older plan names such as EasyStart, Essentials and Advanced to today's names.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Clio Manage cost?

On Clio's US edition, clio.com/pricing, Starter is shown as starting at $49 USD per user per month. Core, Signature and Elite show a Get pricing button instead of a price, and the page does not say whether $49 assumes annual or monthly billing. Online payments carry separate fees: 1% for eCheck and ACH, and 2.95% for cards (3.75% for Amex) (checked 4 November 2026).

Is Clio Manage free?

No free plan appears on Clio's pricing page, but Clio offers a 7-day trial and says no credit card is needed. Starter, Core and Signature each carry a Try for free button, while Elite shows Book a demo (checked 4 November 2026).

What are Clio Manage's current plan names?

The four plans on clio.com/pricing are Starter, Core, Signature and Elite, with Elite described as Signature plus Clio Grow. Clio's Help Center still pairs Starter, Core, Signature and Elite in the US with EasyStart, Essentials, Advanced and Expand in Canada, while the Canada pricing page now lists Starter, Core, Signature and Elite, and no page gives a price for the older names.

What is the difference between Clio Manage and Clio Work?

Clio Manage runs the firm: matters, deadlines, documents, client communication, time, billing, payments, accounting and reporting. Clio Work is matter-aware legal AI for research, analysis, strategy and drafting, which Clio's pricing page lists as an add-on with a Get pricing button; it can be used on its own, connected to Clio Manage, or bought in a Signature Work or Elite Work package.

Do Clio's prices differ by country?

The figures Clio shows differ by country page. Clio publishes separate pricing pages for the US, Australia, Canada, Ireland and the United Kingdom. The Canada page, for example, says plans start at $69 CAD per user per month, against $49 USD per user per month on the US page; the two are in different currencies, so this page does not convert or compare them (checked 4 November 2026).

How do I log in to Clio Manage?

Conversion Gems is a review site and cannot sign anyone in. The Sign in link on clio.com opens https://account.clio.com/, and Clio's Help Center at help.clio.com covers account questions.
