What it is, and why we rate it

One line each. Open a row for detail.

What it really isA subscription data broker removal service from Incogni Inc., created within Surfshark: it sends and repeats opt-out and deletion requests to 420+ brokers, with custom removals and an Exposure Scanner on the Unlimited plans.
Our takeIncogni is specific about price and about what it cannot touch.
Its Standard, Unlimited, Family and Family Unlimited plans are priced in USD with yearly billing at half the monthly rate, the refund terms are written out, and its own pages list the site types it cannot remove from. The Deloitte items Incogni cites cover coverage, confirmations, request cadence and data sales, not outcomes for one person's records, so this page reports what Incogni says and leaves the judgement to you.
Why we rate itPrices, refund terms and limits are published in detail and in USD with a 30-day guarantee; held back by no free plan, one refund per customer, scope exclusions, regional limits and no first-party result for any individual's data.
The catchNo free plan; monthly billing costs twice the yearly per-month rate; refunds once per customer and only after the initial purchase; no removal from social media, forums, court or government records; results depend on each broker.

Trade-offs

Friction report

Trade-offs to know before signing up.

  1. Time to value
Setup needs some personal details (the Terms list name, surname, residential address, phone number, date of birth and email address) plus a signed online authorization form; Incogni says some brokers answer within a day and others take weeks.
  2. Scale breakpoint
Standard covers 420+ brokers; sites outside that list need the custom removals on Unlimited or Family Unlimited, and Family plans cover up to 5 members.
  3. Walled garden
Custom removals, the Exposure Scanner, the Privacy Score and live phone support sit on the Unlimited plans, and Incogni's help center says Protect and Concierge are for US residents only.

What Incogni says about timing, scope and limits

QuestionWhat Incogni says
How long do removals take?It varies by broker: some respond within a day and others take longer. Incogni cites 30 days under GDPR and 45 days under CCPA as standard timeframes, says some brokers re-list data, and says it follows up and repeats requests
What can it not remove?Social media platforms, user-generated forums, court records, government records and sites about criminal proceedings; the Help Center adds blogs. This applies to custom removals too
Are custom removals guaranteed? No. The Terms say compliance is at the site owner's discretion and that automated scanning may not find all exposures
What about the dark web?The help article says that once data is on the dark web it may already be in criminals' hands, and points to its broker removals
Where is it available? The US (including Puerto Rico, Guam, the US Virgin Islands, American Samoa and the Northern Mariana Islands), Canada, the UK including the Isle of Man, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and the EU member states; Incogni says the scope of removal may differ by location
