Trade-offs

Friction report

Trade-offs to know before signing up.

  1. Time to value
The Free plan starts with a sign-up and no paid commitment; the pages reviewed give no setup time.
  2. Scale breakpoint
Free stops at 10 text and 15 image prompts a day, and credit-heavy work moves to Pro Plus (7,500 credits a month) or Max (22,500).
  3. Walled garden
Credits, not dollars, pay for video, music, frontier models and API calls; credits are non-refundable and some expire; VVV and DIEM add a token layer.

Venice says 100 credits equal $1 and that credits are non-refundable. Its Terms say subscriptions renew automatically and fees are non-refundable except as required by law.

Venice's four privacy modes in its own words

ModeWho can use itWhat Venice saysTrade-off Venice lists
AnonymousAll usersVenice proxies your request to frontier model providers and obscures your identity from the providerYou should assume the provider is storing your content
Private (default)All usersInference runs on Venice-controlled GPUs or zero-data-retention partner infrastructure, and no prompt or response is storedTrust-based: it relies on Venice and its partners honoring contracts
TEEProInference runs in a hardware-isolated enclave operated by external partners, verified by remote attestationResponses may be slower and fewer models are available
E2EEProThe prompt is encrypted on your device and decrypted only inside a verified enclaveNo web search or memory, and responses may be slower

From Venice's privacy page (venice.ai/privacy), checked 3 November 2026. Venice's privacy policy (effective 2 June 2026) says it will not have access to or store the content of prompts or outputs (it stores generated videos temporarily until downloaded) and describes zero data retention with its model providers, while also listing data it does collect, such as IP address, device and usage information and a free account's email address. Venice's About page says 'no data collection'. These first-party statements are worded differently, so read the privacy page and the policy together.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Venice AI free?

Yes, in part: Venice's pricing page lists a Free plan at $0 with base AI models, 10 text prompts a day and 15 image prompts a day. Pro, at $18 a month on monthly billing or $180 a year on yearly billing, adds unlimited text prompts, up to 1,000 image prompts a day and 100 credits a month for video, music and premium models. The pages reviewed describe no separate free trial of a paid plan (checked 3 November 2026).

How much does Venice AI cost?

Venice's pricing page lists Pro at $18 a month, Pro Plus at $68 and Max at $200 on monthly billing, or $180, $735 and $2,160 a year on yearly billing, in US dollars. The plans carry 100, 7,500 and 22,500 credits a month, and Venice says 100 credits equal $1. Its Terms say fees are non-refundable except as required by law, and its FAQ says subscriptions are generally non-refundable once payment is processed (checked 3 November 2026).

Is Venice AI safe and private?

Venice says conversation history stays on your device and that Anonymous-mode models may be stored by their provider; Conversion Gems gives no safety verdict, so the rest of this answer reports what Venice says. Its privacy page says the same about conversation history and sorts every model into one of four modes: Anonymous, Private (the default), TEE and E2EE, the last two for Pro users. For Anonymous models Venice itself says to assume the provider is storing your content. Its privacy policy, effective 2 June 2026, says Venice will not have access to or store the content of prompts or outputs, except that it temporarily stores generated videos until you download them, and also says it collects metadata such as your IP address and, for a free account, an email address.

Who owns Venice AI?

Venice's Terms of Service, last updated 8 June 2026, say the service is offered by Venice.ai, located at 1309 Coffeen Ave, Ste 14343, Sheridan, WY 82801. Neither the Terms nor the privacy policy names a founder or parent company, so this page states none.

What are VVV and DIEM?

VVV is Venice's token and DIEM is a second token minted from staked VVV; Venice's FAQ calls DIEM a tokenized compute unit equal to $1 per day of Venice API credit and says it is not pegged to USD. The same FAQ says users who stake 100 or more VVV can access Pro features, that the staking yield may be revoked with at least 15 days' notice, and that credits can be bought with USD or USDC. The pricing page lists the plans in dollars, and Conversion Gems gives no financial advice about the tokens.

How do I sign in to Venice AI?

Conversion Gems is a review site and cannot sign anyone in to Venice. The Log in link on venice.ai goes to https://venice.ai/sign-in, and Venice's privacy policy says you can sign up with a third-party account such as Apple, Google or Discord, or with a web3 wallet. Venice's FAQ gives support@venice.ai as its official support email. Conversion Gems only read the link and did not use it.
