What it really is

An open-source, developer-first builder for internal web apps on your own data.

Our take

Appsmith gives teams a real open-source path: self-host the Community edition and own the stack. The cloud Business plan is simply priced at $15 per user, developers included. Plan ahead for size, because the free cloud plan stops at 5 users, Business at 99, and enterprise sign-on features sit behind a $2,500 monthly minimum.

Why we rate it

Open-source licensing, a usable free tier and flat per-user pricing.

The catch

User ceilings on Free (5) and Business (99), and SAML/OIDC SSO and SCIM only on Enterprise.

Best for
Internal admin panels
Self-hosted deployments
Developer-led ops tooling
Not good for
Non-technical builders
Customer-facing consumer apps
Friction report
Time to value
Hours: sign up or run Docker, connect a datasource and drag widgets.
Scale breakpoint
100 users forces the move from Business to Enterprise at $2,500 a month.
Walled garden
Low: open-source code, Git-backed apps and self-hosting.
