Try RipplingFrom $8/employee/mo plus base fee, by quote

Rippling is a workforce platform from San Francisco that sells HR, payroll, IT and spend products as separate modules on one employee record. It publishes no price list: its pricing page is a quote request. Its own pages give $8 per employee a month as the starting figure plus a monthly base fee, which they state as $40 on one page and $35 on others. Rippling lists a demo rather than a free trial, and eligible US venture-backed startups can get 6 months of free access.

The bottom line

A broad all-in-one platform for buyers who accept a quote-based sale; get the base fee and every module priced in writing before comparing it with vendors that publish prices.

What it really isA modular HR, payroll, IT and spend platform sold by quote, with a starting price per employee plus a monthly base fee.
Our takeRippling puts HR, payroll, benefits, IT and spend products on one platform and sells them as separate modules.
It publishes no price list: the pricing page is a quote form. Rippling's own pages give a starting figure of $8 per employee a month plus a base fee that they state as $40 on one page and $35 on others. Total cost rises with each module, so the useful step is a written quote that names every product.
Why we rate itRippling explains how pricing works (per employee per month, some products with a monthly base fee) and its blog states estimates, but plan-level prices are not published.
The catchEvery number depends on a sales quote, Rippling's pages disagree on the base fee, and the pricing page lists a demo rather than a free trial.

Best / not good for

Best for
  • Employers that want HR, payroll and IT admin on one platform
  • Teams that expect to add products over time
  • Companies with staff in several countries, since global payroll and employer of record are listed
Not good for
  • Buyers who want a public price list before talking to sales
  • Teams that need only basic payroll at a low fixed price
  • Anyone who needs a free trial before buying, since the pricing page lists a demo
Trade-offs

Friction report

Trade-offs to know before signing up.

  1. Time to value
Rippling's small business page says setup takes most small businesses 1 to 3 weeks, with three calls with an Implementation Manager.
  2. Scale breakpoint
Cost rises with each product and each employee: Rippling's own estimate climbs from a range of $15 to $25 per employee per month to a range of $30 to $50 or more as global payroll, IT and spend are added.
  3. Walled garden
Products share one employee record, so the value comes from buying several. Rippling's own HRIS review says the platform can feel overwhelming at first.

From Rippling's own pages, read in a browser and checked 29 October 2026. The pages print dollar figures per month and do not say when charges are billed. The figures conflict: the base fee is $40 on one page and $35 on others, and the $8 starting figure is described as covering plans, payroll or the base HRIS module depending on the page. Rippling sells by quote, so none of these is a confirmed price for your company.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Rippling cost?

Rippling does not publish a price list. Its pricing page says plans start at $8 per employee per month, with a monthly base fee, and that the total depends on the products you choose. Its small business page adds a $40 monthly base fee. Its healthcare page lists $12 per user per month plus a $35 base fee, and two Rippling blog posts also give a $35 base fee. Rippling's own HRIS review estimates roughly $15 to $25 per employee per month for a 100-employee company using HRIS, payroll, benefits administration and time and attendance, and $30 to $50 or more with global payroll, IT and spend management. Ask for a written quote (checked 29 October 2026).

Does Rippling have a free trial?

Rippling's pricing page lists a free quote and a demo request but no free trial. Its pricing FAQ names one exception: eligible US venture-backed startups can get free access to Rippling for 6 months, depending on funding status and stage, and Rippling asks startups to contact it to check eligibility (checked 29 October 2026).

What should I ask for in a Rippling quote?

Ask for a quote that lists each product on its own line with its price; the monthly base fee as a dollar figure; the per-employee rate and what counts as an employee (Rippling's quote form asks for employees plus contractors); the contract length and renewal terms; and any implementation charge. Rippling's own pages give the base fee as $35 on some pages and $40 on another, and describe the $8 starting figure as covering plans, payroll or the base HRIS module depending on the page. Because the pages differ, get the numbers in writing before you compare vendors (checked 29 October 2026).

Is Rippling good for a small business?

Rippling's small business page says there is no minimum headcount and that it works for teams under 10 employees. It also says setup takes most small businesses 1 to 3 weeks, guided by an Implementation Manager. The page prices small businesses at $8 per user per month plus a $40 monthly base fee, so the base fee weighs more on a small team. On those two figures, 5 people come to $80 a month and 10 people to $120 before any other products. That is arithmetic on Rippling's figures, not a quote (checked 29 October 2026).

How does Rippling pricing compare with Gusto?

Gusto publishes its plan prices and Rippling does not. Gusto's pricing page lists Simple at $49 a month plus $6 a month per person, Plus at $80 plus $12 and Premium at $180 plus $22, with no contracts. Rippling gives a starting figure of $8 per employee a month plus a base fee and asks for a quote, so the two cannot be compared plan for plan until Rippling quotes the same headcount, states and products (checked 29 October 2026).
