What it really is

An accounts payable and global payouts platform with procurement, expense and treasury add-ons for mid-market finance teams.

Our take

Tipalti is built for the part of finance that hurts at scale: onboarding hundreds of payees, collecting tax forms, matching invoices and paying people in many countries. Unusually for the category, it publishes starting prices, $99 a month for AP and $249 for Mass Payments with unlimited users. Those are floors, though, because transaction fees and extra modules sit on top.

Why we rate it

It brings supplier onboarding, tax compliance, approvals, global payments and ERP sync into one system, with no per-user fees.

The catch

Transaction rates are not published and modules are extra, so the real monthly cost can be well above the starting price.

Best for
Mid-market companies paying international suppliers
Marketplaces and platforms paying many partners or creators
Finance teams running NetSuite, Sage, QuickBooks or Xero
Not good for
Very small businesses paying a few local bills
Buyers who need a free plan
Teams wanting fully published per-transaction rates
Friction report
Time to value
Moderate: standard implementation is included, but supplier onboarding and ERP setup take time.
Scale breakpoint
Higher payment volume, more entities and added modules raise the subscription and fees.
Walled garden
Moderate: data syncs to your ERP, but supplier records and workflows live in Tipalti.
