What it is, and why we rate it

One line each. Open a row for detail.

What it really isA global people platform that handles hiring, payroll, HR, IT and visas for employees and contractors in other countries, sold per worker per month through a demo.
Our takeDeel puts contractors, employees abroad, US PEO, payroll, HR and IT in one price list, with a starting price for each.
Treat those as the beginning of a quote: the pricing page shows two US PEO prices, Deel's pages count countries three ways, and the PEO promotion is tied to a two-year term.
Why we rate itBreadth is wide and prices are published as starting points, but every sale runs through a demo and the pricing page differs with itself on the US PEO price.
The catchThe prices are 'starting at' figures per worker, the PEO promotion needs a two-year order form, and the US PEO price and the country count are not consistent across Deel's own pages.

Best / not good for

Best for
  • Companies paying contractors in several countries
  • Teams hiring employees abroad without a local entity
  • Finance or people teams that want contractors, EOR and payroll in one system
Not good for
  • Buyers who want a self-serve checkout and a fixed total price
  • Very small teams hiring one local employee
  • Companies that need every cost published before talking to sales
Trade-offs

Friction report

Trade-offs to know before signing up.

  1. Time to value
Every product on the pricing page leads to Book a demo, and no setup time is published; the US payroll option is labelled self-service.
  2. Scale breakpoint
Cost grows per worker per month, so EOR at $599 per employee adds up with each hire; pricing above the starting prices is not published.
  3. Walled garden
Payroll add-ons such as Treasury Services ($10), Payroll Connect ($5) and Benefits Management ($10) are priced separately per employee per month.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Deel and how does it work?

Deel is a global people platform for hiring, paying and managing employees and contractors across borders. Its home page describes payroll, HR, IT, benefits, hiring and mobility, and its pricing page sorts the products by worker type: contractors, Contractor of Record, Employer of Record (EOR), US PEO and payroll for entities a company already owns. A company picks the product that matches how it employs a person, books a demo and is quoted. Deel's own pages count its countries differently, from 100+ and 130+ to 150+ and more than 160, so ask Deel about the country you need.

How much does Deel cost?

Deel's pricing page shows starting prices per worker per month: Find talent $14, contractors $49, Contractor of Record $325, US PEO $125 on one tab and PEO Starter $110 or PEO Pro $120 on another, and EOR $599. Deel Payroll starts at $29 per employee per month, Deel HR at $5, and IT at $49 per user. Every product leads to Book a demo, the page shows a dollar sign with no currency label, and Deel's help center gives contractor contracts as $49 USD per active contract per month. Deel also advertises three months of free PEO Platform Fees as a limited-time promotion on qualifying order forms (checked 2 November 2026).

Is Deel legit?

According to Deel's own pages, it was founded in 2019 by Alex Bouaziz and Shuo Wang and operates through licensed subsidiaries and regulated payment service providers, and its licensed entities hold money transmitter and payments licenses in multiple jurisdictions. Its Licenses and Compliance page names DPayments Australia Pty Ltd under an Australian Financial Services Licence and describes a complaints process. Conversion Gems does not rule on legitimacy and did not read court or regulator records, so this page says nothing about any legal or regulatory matter involving Deel. Check the contracting entity and terms in your order form.

Does Deel require a long-term contract?

Deel's pricing FAQ says no: it describes month-to-month pricing with no long-term commitment and says you can cancel at any time, with local labor laws applying to EOR employees. The PEO promotion is different: its terms apply to an order form with a minimum two-year term and make the full list price for the whole order form payable if you end it early. The pricing FAQ says you can explore the platform with a free demo. Read the order form for your own term and cancellation terms.

What is Deel if my employer or client uses it?

Deel is the platform your employer or client may use to contract, pay and manage you across borders. Deel's help center says it does not charge contractors or employees a monthly subscription fee and that it bills clients by active contracts per month. It says workers can withdraw funds by local bank transfer, SWIFT, PayPal, Payoneer, Revolut, Wise and other e-wallets. Ask your employer or client which Deel product covers you and how you are paid.

How do I log in to Deel?

The Log in link on deel.com goes to https://app.deel.com/login. Conversion Gems is a review site and cannot sign anyone in to Deel; it only read that link, because the page showed no content in its browser pane, and did not use it. Deel's help center has articles on single sign-on and account security if you cannot sign in.
