The Swiss federal UID register lists i-magazine AG as an active corporation, and Yumpu's help center says the platform does not sell or provide the products advertised inside documents that users upload. What it really isA Swiss-run service that converts PDFs into page-turning online publications, with a free plan that may show ads and paid plans that remove them.
Our takeYumpu's identity and terms are easy to check: an active Swiss corporation, an imprint, dated terms and a help center that explains cancellation.
Four things need a look before you commit: the free plan's ads, auto-renewal on paid plans, what happens when a trial ends, and who is behind any offer inside someone else's upload. Read the billing screen before a trial and cancel in My account if you do not continue.
Why we rate itYumpu's imprint, terms and help center name the operator, the billing cycles, the cancellation steps and the ad model, and the Swiss UID register lists the operator as active.
The catchThe free plan may show ads, paid plans renew automatically, a trial moves to billing unless cancelled, and Yumpu does not provide the products advertised inside uploaded documents.

Trade-offs

Friction report

Trade-offs to know before signing up.

  1. Time to value
Upload a PDF and conversion usually takes under two minutes, according to Yumpu's FAQ.
  2. Scale breakpoint
The free plan stops at 3 uploads; adFREE adds unlimited uploads, while Yumpu's plans page lists WEBKiosk with up to 100 uploads, with each collaborator after the first at 19 EUR a month.
  3. Walled garden
Publications are hosted on Yumpu; downloads need a registered account and a publisher who has enabled them, and the free plan may show third-party advertisements.

What people raise about Yumpu

Some people who comment on Yumpu online raise three things: ads on the free plan, charges after a free trial, and offers or products inside other people's uploads. These are individual comments that Conversion Gems has not verified. Yumpu's own documents address each. Its terms say free-plan publications may carry ads that the adFREE plan removes. The plans-page FAQ says the selected payment method is debited at the end of a trial and then every billing cycle until you cancel. The help center says Yumpu does not provide products advertised inside documents.

Yumpu's pages differ on one point. The plans-page FAQ says the payment method is debited at the end of a trial, while the help center says the 14-day adFREE trial needs no payment upfront. Both can be true if nothing is charged at sign-up, but neither page says whether payment details are collected first, so check the checkout screen before starting a trial.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Yumpu a legit website?

Yumpu is operated by i-magazine AG, which the Swiss federal UID register lists as an active corporation at Gewerbestrasse 3, 9444 Diepoldsau, with UID CHE-113.772.377 and an active commercial register entry (checked 29 October 2026). Yumpu's imprint names the same company and address, its terms say Swiss law applies, and its FAQ says the platform was founded in 2011. Those facts show who runs the site; they do not rate any particular publication, offer or charge. People who comment on Yumpu online raise ads on the free plan, charges after a trial and offers inside other people's uploads; Yumpu's own pages address each, and Conversion Gems has not verified the comments.

Is Yumpu free?

Yumpu has a free Basic plan at $0: 3 uploads with unlimited pages each, Google indexing, website embedding and sharing. The free plan may show third-party ads. The first paid plan, adFREE, is $24.95 a month on the 30-day cycle or $19.95 a month billed as one $239.40 payment per 360 days, with a 14-day free trial on the 360-day cycle. YUMPU News, the separate reader subscription, has a 30-day free trial, and its FAQ names EUR 7.99 a month for its best-value model (checked 29 October 2026).

Can I download from Yumpu?

Only if the publisher allows it and you are registered. Yumpu's terms say a visitor must register to download, and its help center says PDF downloads come with a paid subscription and are switched on by the publisher. When downloads are enabled, a Download ePaper button appears in preview mode.

Does Yumpu sell the products and free ebooks advertised in its documents?

No. Yumpu's help center, in an article dated 3 March 2026, says Yumpu is a platform where independent users and publishers upload documents, and that it does not manufacture, sell or provide the products or services advertised in them. The article tells readers to contact the publisher. The terms make publishers responsible for what they upload. A Report misuse button lets readers flag content, which is deactivated at once and deleted after 7 days unless the publisher sends a statement. A card form or free-ebook offer inside someone's upload is not Yumpu's offer, so check who is named on the form before paying.

How do I cancel a Yumpu subscription?

In your account, open My account, scroll to Current Subscription, choose Cancel subscription and enter your password; Yumpu then emails a link, and the cancellation counts only after you click it (help center, 7 October 2025). The plan ends at the close of the current billing period. Paid plans renew automatically every 30 or 360 days, and the publishing terms of 26 June 2025 advise cancelling at least 1 day before a new period. YUMPU News is separate: its Cancel button works at any time, but cancelling by email must happen 7 days before the period ends.

Where do I log in to Yumpu?

Conversion Gems is an independent review site and cannot sign anyone in to Yumpu. Yumpu's own sign-in page for publishers is https://www.yumpu.com/en/user/login, and YUMPU News readers sign in at https://www.yumpu.com/news/en/login. The login page says accounts created through Google before 27 July 2026 can no longer sign in with Google and should use the forgot-password steps.
