BuildingConnected

BuildingConnected is Autodesk's bid management software for general contractors and subcontractors; Autodesk shows no prices, only Request a Quote.

Our take: BuildingConnected is easy to understand and hard to price.

Best forConstruction bid management
ReviewedPricing: Freemium
Try BuildingConnectedNo price published; Request a Quote

Autodesk sells BuildingConnected as bid management software for general contractors, owners and subcontractors, and its pricing page shows no price: BuildingConnected Pro, Bid Board Pro and TradeTapp each say Request a Quote. Autodesk's support site says subcontractors can use a free version of Bid Board and ask sales for a Bid Board Pro trial, while general contractors go through sales for BuildingConnected Pro (checked 4 November 2026). Dollar ranges on comparison sites and forums are not Autodesk prices and are not used on this page.

The bottom line

No public price: general contractors and Bid Board Pro buyers ask Autodesk for a quote, while subcontractors can start on a free Bid Board.

What it is, and why we rate it

One line each. Open a row for detail.

What it really isAutodesk's preconstruction bid network: BuildingConnected Pro for general contractors and owners, Bid Board Pro for subcontractors and TradeTapp for subcontractor qualification, with a free Bid Board on the subcontractor side.
Our takeBuildingConnected is easy to understand and hard to price.
Autodesk's own pricing page names three products and shows Request a Quote for each, so the plainest cost fact on a first-party page is that subcontractors can start free. Anything beyond that comes from a sales conversation, which the support site says is handled by an Account Executive.
Why we rate itGood feature coverage and a free subcontractor tier, held back on value because no first-party price exists and paid access runs through sales and an Autodesk Forma administrator.
The catchNo price on the Autodesk pages read; third-party ranges are not Autodesk figures; paid licences are assigned by an Autodesk Forma Hub administrator; several help articles are old.

Best / not good for

Best for
  • General contractors sending bid packages to many subcontractors
  • Subcontractors who receive bid invitations and want to track them
  • Companies that already use Autodesk Forma products
Not good for
  • Buyers who need a published price before a sales call
  • Teams that want self-serve checkout with a card
  • Anyone who needs a first-party price comparison against other bid platforms
Trade-offs

Friction report

Trade-offs to know before signing up.

  1. Time to value
Subcontractors can start free once a general contractor invites them or they create an account; paid products start with a demo form and an Account Executive, per Autodesk's support site.
  2. Scale breakpoint
Paid subscriptions are assigned per user by an Autodesk Forma Hub administrator, so adding people means an administrator step.
  3. Walled garden
Bid Board Pro, the paid tier, holds the calendar, leaderboard, analytics and reports; the free Bid Board still receives and submits bids.

From Autodesk's pricing page (construction.autodesk.com/pricing/buildingconnected/) and product page (construction.autodesk.com/products/buildingconnected/, for who each product is aimed at), read in a browser on 4 November 2026. The page says pricing is flexible, based on users, projects or accounts, and offers a Forma for Preconstruction bundle at one price that includes BuildingConnected Pro, Bid Board Pro and TradeTapp with Forma Takeoff, Forma Data Management and ProEst. No figure is shown for the bundle either, and each feature list ends with an 'And more' line. The page also lists a 30-day money-back guarantee without saying which products it covers.

From support.buildingconnected.com articles read on 4 November 2026: How subcontractors can start a trial of Bid Board Pro; What happens when my Bid Board Pro trial expires?; How general contractors can start a trial, purchase, or renew BC Pro; How to inquire about pricing for BC Pro. The Bid Board Pro trial article says BuildingConnected does not collect payment information during trials and does not upgrade an account automatically when a trial ends; the general contractor articles do not say this. Some of these articles show an updated age of 3 to 5 years, so confirm the details with Autodesk sales.

How a paid subscription is assigned

Autodesk's support site says that if a company purchased or renewed TradeTapp after March 24, 2025, subscriptions to BuildingConnected Pro, Bid Board Pro and TradeTapp are managed in Autodesk Forma. One of the company's Autodesk Forma Hub administrators has to assign a subscription to each user before it applies to that user's BuildingConnected account.

A second support article says the change starts with a contract renewal or a new purchase, that licences are assigned to individual users through Autodesk's cloud-based system, and that the products still live at app.buildingconnected.com and app.tradetapp.com while the licences are controlled in Autodesk Forma.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does BuildingConnected cost?

Autodesk publishes no price for BuildingConnected: its pricing page shows Request a Quote for BuildingConnected Pro, Bid Board Pro and TradeTapp, and says pricing is flexible and based on users, projects or accounts. Subcontractors can use a free version of Bid Board, and Autodesk's support site sends general contractors and Bid Board Pro buyers to its sales team for a demo or quote. Dollar ranges on comparison sites and forums come from competitors or user reports, not from Autodesk, so this page does not use them (checked 4 November 2026).

Is there a free version of BuildingConnected?

Yes for subcontractors: Autodesk's support site refers to a free version of Bid Board, and says an expired Bid Board Pro trial reverts to the no cost version, which keeps receiving and submitting bids. Calendar, leaderboard, analytics, reports, settings and permissions, and the view of all opportunities your company was invited to are listed as Bid Board Pro features. Support also refers to a free version of Bid Manager for general contractors, and its Bid Board Pro trial article says BuildingConnected collects no payment information during trials and does not upgrade an account automatically when a trial ends (checked 4 November 2026).

How does BuildingConnected work?

General contractors send bid invitations, level the bids they receive and qualify subcontractors in BuildingConnected Pro, and subcontractors manage and submit those bids from Bid Board, according to Autodesk's support site. A subcontractor joins by receiving a bid invitation from a general contractor, an invitation from a colleague or one from Support, or by creating an account without an invitation. TradeTapp is the separate qualification and risk product that Autodesk lists for assessing subcontractors.

Who owns BuildingConnected?

Autodesk: BuildingConnected is part of the Autodesk Forma platform, its pricing and product pages sit on Autodesk's construction site and its help center articles are published by Autodesk Forma Support. The BuildingConnected terms link opened Autodesk's general Terms of Use, which name Autodesk, Inc., a Delaware corporation, as the contracting entity for the United States and Canada. The Autodesk pages read here give no acquisition date, so none is stated.

How do I get a BuildingConnected Pro or Bid Board Pro subscription?

Contact Autodesk sales: general contractors are told to reach the sales team and an Account Executive, and subcontractors start a Bid Board Pro trial through a demo form. Autodesk's support site says that for companies that purchased or renewed TradeTapp after March 24, 2025, BuildingConnected Pro, Bid Board Pro and TradeTapp subscriptions are managed in Autodesk Forma, where a company's Autodesk Forma Hub administrator assigns each subscription to a user. If your company has no administrator yet, it says the person who purchased, or who should be the administrator, needs to set up the account first.

Where do I sign in to BuildingConnected?

Use the BuildingConnected sign-in page at https://app.buildingconnected.com/login, which asks for your account email, or its Need an account? link. Conversion Gems is a review site and cannot sign anyone in. TradeTapp has its own address, app.tradetapp.com, and Autodesk's support site says licences for both products are assigned in Autodesk Forma while the products stay at their own addresses.
