What it really is
A free font browser panel for Google Docs and Slides that surfaces Google's own free fonts.
Our take
If you pick fonts in Google Docs often, the side panel with previews is quicker than the built-in menu, and it costs nothing. It does not give you any font Google does not already offer. The permission list is broad for a font picker, so school and company admins may want to review it first.
Why we rate it
Free, quick to install and makes Google Fonts easier to compare in Docs and Slides.
The catch
Same fonts as Docs' own More fonts menu, and broad edit access to your Docs and Slides files.
Best for
Students and teachers using Google Slides
Office users styling Google Docs
Anyone who finds the font menu slow
Not good for
Designers needing licensed or custom fonts
Microsoft Word or PowerPoint users
Friction report
Time to value
Install from the Marketplace and use it in under a minute.
Scale breakpoint
None for individuals; admins may need to approve add-ons on managed accounts.
Walled garden
Low: fonts applied are standard Google Fonts inside your files.
