Kareo is now Tebra: cloud EHR, medical billing and patient experience software for independent medical practices. Tebra publishes no prices; it quotes per clinical provider and includes non-clinical staff at no extra cost.
Kareo is now Tebra
Kareo and PatientPop merged and announced the Tebra name on 2 November 2021. Kareo's EHR and billing software continues as Tebra's practice operations product, and former Kareo users still sign in at app.kareo.com.

The bottom line
A sensible all-in-one for independent practices, if you are willing to go through a quote to learn the price.

What it really is
Kareo's EHR and billing software, renamed Tebra after its 2021 merger with PatientPop.
Our take
Tebra puts charting, billing, scheduling and patient marketing behind one login, which is the main reason small practices pick it. Pricing is the weak spot for buyers: nothing is published, so every comparison starts with a sales call. The per-provider model helps practices with many support staff, since those users cost nothing extra. Former Kareo users keep their workflows and still sign in at app.kareo.com.
Why we rate it
It covers the full practice workflow, from notes and e-prescribing to claims and patient reviews, in one system.
The catch
No published prices, no listed free trial and extra compliance fees on top of the quote.
Best for
Independent medical practices with 1 to 10 providers
Practices with many front desk and billing staff
Former Kareo or PatientPop customers
Not good for
Buyers who need public pricing before a sales call
Large health systems
Therapists who only need notes and billing
Friction report
Time to value
Moderate: a demo, quote and implementation come before first use.
Scale breakpoint
Cost grows with each added clinical provider.
Walled garden
High: clinical and billing records live in Tebra's hosted platform.

Tebra does not publish prices. Its pricing page says cost depends on the number of providers, the features you need and implementation, and is charged per clinical provider. Extra fees include about $75 per provider for EPCS setup and $500 per facility plus about $50 per user a year for PDMP integration (checked 4 October 2026).
Conversion Gems is a review site, not Tebra. Tebra's help center says former Kareo users sign in at app.kareo.com with the email tied to their Tebra username, then complete two-factor authentication. Tebra's sign-in page is https://www.tebra.com/sign-in.
Kareo, now Tebra, is used by independent medical practices for electronic health records, e-prescribing, medical billing and claims, scheduling and patient communication.
The Tebra mobile app uses the same Tebra login with a passcode and a code sent by email or text. Tebra's site lists HIPAA compliance and HITRUST, AICPA/SOC and PCI badges. We did not audit its security ourselves.
No free trial is listed on Tebra's pricing page. You can take a free product tour or request a demo and quote (checked 4 October 2026).
