What it really is
Web-based practice management and telehealth for counselors and therapists in the US and Canada.
Our take
CounSol does what a small counseling practice needs: booking, notes, invoicing, claims and video in one account, with an account manager on call. The plan structure is the part to read slowly. Insurance billing and video are split across tiers, so a practice that wants both ends up on Premium Plus, and the prices on the page today are a limited-time offer. Factor in $35 to $45 for each added counselor before comparing it with rivals.
Why we rate it
It covers scheduling, notes, claims and telehealth for therapists with no setup fee or contract.
The catch
Today's prices are a limited-time offer, and claims plus video together require the top plan.
Best for
Solo counselors and therapists in private practice
Small group practices that bill insurance
Practices offering video or chat sessions
Not good for
Practices outside the US and Canada
Medical practices that need a full EHR with labs
Teams wanting a free plan
Friction report
Time to value
Short: sign up for the trial, then wait for license verification, usually the same business day.
Scale breakpoint
Each added counselor adds $35 to $45 a month.
Walled garden
Medium: records export is built in, but leaving without exporting costs $4.95 a month for storage.
