What it really is
A screen recorder, screenshot and GIF tool (formerly CloudApp) that uploads captures to shareable links, with AI and support-team features.
Our take
Zight is a dependable capture tool with a long history, and its support features are the real draw: Request Video, console logs and helpdesk integrations make bug reports faster. The free plan is mostly a trial, with 5-minute recordings and 1 GB of storage. On annual billing it undercuts Loom's list price, but the integrations support teams want most sit in the sales-led Scale plan.
Why we rate it
Screenshots, GIFs and screen video in one app, with strong support-team features and security credentials.
The catch
A tight free plan, and premium integrations, SSO and HIPAA only on the sales-led Scale plan.
Best for
Customer support and success teams
Bug reports with console logs
Quick annotated screenshots
Not good for
Long recordings on the free plan
Polished, edited video production
Teams needing SSO without an enterprise deal
Friction report
Time to value
Minutes: install the desktop app or Chrome extension, capture and share the link.
Scale breakpoint
Teams over 100 users, or needing SSO, SCIM or helpdesk integrations, must move to Scale.
Walled garden
Medium: captures live in Zight's cloud and are shared as Zight links.
